"Pirene" es una historia que se desarrolla en un siglo XI un tanto alternativo. Me apetecía hacer una ilustración con el aire románico de la época y el lugar (sobretodo inspirándome en el llamado "maestro de Agüero"), pero con un estilo un poco más contemporáneo, y espero que más mono y adorable. 
El roble pretendía ser un símbolo de la vida y esas historias, pero al final ha acabado pareciendo un arciano de Juego de Tronos (¡maldición! ú_ù). Hablando de símbolos, ese que tanto se repite en mis últimas ilustraciones (y también en esta), es una "religada" de 6 brazos. Supuestamente, tiene una función protectora, pero en mi opinión, como la mayoría de esos símbolos antiguos (en Galicia y la Cordillera Cantábrica los hay a montones), no expresa otra cosa más que el fluir, los ciclos y la unión. Yo no sé de lenguas... pero religada suena mucho al latín "religare", que se traduciría como "volver a unir". Si es así, a mí me parece precioso. ^_^

"Pirene" is a story which takes place in an alternative 11th century. I wanted to make an illustration with the romanesque style of that age and place (inspired specially in the called "maestro de Agüero"), but on a more modern way. And more cute and adorable, or I hope so.
The oak tree was supposed to be a symbol of life and all that kind of things, but it ended up looking very similar to a weirwood from Game of Thrones (damn! ú_ù)
By the way, that symbol so many times repeated in my last drawings (and here too), is a "religada". Presumably, it protects people, but in my opinion, as  most of that ancient symbols (which can be found at many places), it shows the flow, the cycles, and the unity of the world. I don't know much about languages... but "religada" sounds almost like the latin word "religare", that would be translated as "put together again". If it's correct, I think it's a very beautiful meaning. ^_^
